I am a retired chef. I've spent many wonderful years working in professional kitchens throughout North America and the Caribbean. My career allowed me to see the world, meet amazing people, and do some amazing things. Moreover, I enjoyed nearly 30 years pursuing my passion for the art and science of cooking.
These days I'm pursuing other passions. Throughout my life, if I wasn't in school or the kitchen, I was probably hiking a mountainous trail, battling dehydration in some desert, or paddling one of the continent's wilderness waterways. On the rare occasion when I wasn't lost in the wilds, I was likely navigating my way through various projects in my small workshop.
Wherever I've found myself, a knife has been my constant companion. I’ve come to truly appreciate a finely crafted knife that performs its task with efficiency and longevity. For the last ten years now, I’ve been designing and building knives that meet my performance standards as well as my aesthetic taste. Whether it is to be used in the woods, or in the kitchen, I strive to combine the finest materials with exceptional craftsmanship to produce an heirloom piece of functional art.
My wife Sue, daughter Avery and I currently live on the rugged and often foggy Atlantic coast in the small historic town of Louisbourg, Nova Scotia.
